Meet our 2013 Winning Kids!
We are excited to introduce our new Winning Kids for 2013 - Fiona Carroll of Averill Park and Angelina Dutcher of Glasco.
Fiona is the daughter of Thomas and Leslie Carroll. She has two older siblings, Liam and Alana. Fiona attends Miller Hill Elementary School where she is in the 4th grade. Fiona is an avid nature enthusiast and spends hours playing outside. She is exceptionally good with animals and frequently visits her backyard flock of chickens. She has a deep appreciation for the natural world, taking note of beautiful sunsets, or a visiting humming bird. Fiona enjoys playing soccer with the Averill Park Youth Soccer League travel team. She is also a Girl Scout. Fiona enjoys drawing and writing and has had artwork selected for district wide art shows. Fiona's seizures currently occur only at night. She is a very compassionate child who enjoys helping others. Recently, Fiona cut her hair to donate it to Locks of Love.
Angelina is the daughter of Nolan Dutcher and Melissa Sangi. She has a younger brother, Tavien. Angelina attends the Windham-Ashland-Jewitt School where she is in the 4th grade. She loves playing all sports, and currently participates in special soccer and baseball leagues. She also trains Martial Arts. Angelina experiences drop seizures, and has recently had brain surgery to try to stop the seizures. Numerous medications as well as the Ketogenic Diet have not been effective for her. Despite all of this, she has an amazing personality and a positive attitude. Angelina looks forward to serving as a role model for others with epilepsy.
Fiona and Angelina will represent all children with epilepsy at fundraisers and special events throughout the year. The children will also receive a scholarship towards the summer camp of their choice.
Congratulations Fiona and Angelina!
