Epilepsy Foundation Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire & Maine

Support Groups

The Epilepsy Foundation Massachusetts,Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine provides adults, ages 18 and over, and teens, ages 15 - 19, living with epilepsy an opportunity to share common experiences through a supportive group environment. Current, active support groups for adults are listed in the first grouping below. Groups have unique dynamics, call Susan Welby for a referral into the group that may be appropriate for you.

We also provide families the opportunity to share common experiences, network and support one another through Parent and Family Support Network (PFSN) by phone, email or in groups. Each parent led group is unique in some way. Some cater to parents of young children and others are open to all across the lifespan. The PFSN groups are in the second grouping. Please call Susan Welby for a referral to the appropriate group.

We continue to strive to establish support and information groups throughout our region. If you have questions regarding support groups or are interested in attending or starting a support group or Parent & Family support Network group
please contact Susan Welby at support@efmarinhme.org or call 617-506-6041 x102

Northshore PFSN Group
Message from Donna and Gail:

It is with fond memories and a bit of a sad-heart we write to you today.  After more than 12 years and meeting with hundreds of families we have decided to retire as facilitators of the Epilepsy Foundation’s Parent & Family Support Group here on the north shore.

As with many things in life, we have received much more than we have given.  We set out to volunteer our time & energy to help families living with epilepsy and in return we have gained support of OUR families along with new ideas, knowledge, resources and wisdom from YOU.  Most of all we have gained true friends along the way.

We thank you.

We are hoping that our group will not end.  We would love to train, assist and support new facilitators for our group.  Would you consider continuing our tradition of supporting families on the north shore?? Our new facilitator(s) will be supported both by the Epilepsy Foundation and, of course, us in any and every way.

We plan to host one more meeting at 7:30 on the second Wednesday of the month…..February 13, 2013. And then hopefully attend a newly led group in March!

Thank you all for everything you have given us over the years!!

Fondly,
Donna & Gail
